The 01E Security Officer Core Subjects DCJS training course is a basic Security Officer training program that is required in order to obtain the proper DCJS certification to work as an unarmed security officer or an armed security officer in the state of Virginia. The course curriculum consists of the following subjects:
- DCJS rules and regulations
- Law (as it pertains to security officers and the state of Virginia)
- Courtroom procedure
- Report writing
- Patrol tactics
- Access control
- Communication
- Emergency procedures
- Confrontation management
- Use of force
